Understanding Cellular Defence Against Viruses
The Fletcher Lab is a research team at the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR). We investigate how cells respond to viral infections. Primarily, we are developing new ways of measuring this response, and characterising some of the proteins that provide antiviral defence inside the cell.

New Starter!
Vojtech Pavelka joined us this month as part of his Integrated Masters degree in Medical Microbiology at the University of Glasgow. Vojtech is interested in how viruses influence host cell genetics (especially phages!). As part of his training in the lab, Vojtech has begun by joining a project led by Hollie, looking at the role of interferons in regulating retroviral infection.
